We had such a happy 4th. We had a few goals for the weekend and accomplished all of them! Getting some sun was a goal and we accomplished that by visiting a local "lake." I have a hard time calling it a lake, it is more like a huge pond with water slides, rope swings, paddle boats, etc. It has sandy beaches and they allow you to bring in your own food/drinks, chairs and umbrellas. 
We came home with plenty of sun and longing to be back at the beach!
I also made a yummy red, white, and blue dessert that I wanted to share with you!
Layer angle food cake, whipped cream, strawberries, blue berries, and repeat.
Even I couldn't screw that up. :)
